TRAVEL

Travel es el nombre de un proyecto que mantengo abierto desde hace muchos años; mi interés por la etnografía me lleva a interesarse vivamente por las formas de vida de los sitios a los que viajo. Así, este proyecto podría parecer que trata sobre sitios, paisajes, o ciudades; sin embargo, los protagonistas son las sociedades y su cultura. Trajes, construcciones, animales o costumbres se muestran en estas imágenes. Para mi no hay viaje si no hay gente que viva los espacios que visito; es importante pasar tiempo con los que realmente crean esas sociedades, y así entenderlas mejor.

“Travel” is the name of a project that I’ve kept open for many years; my interest in ethnography leads me to be deeply interested in the ways of life of the places I travel to. Thus, this project might seem to be about sites, landscapes, or cities; however, the protagonists are societies and their culture. Costumes, buildings, animals, or customs are displayed in these images. For me, there is no journey if there are no people living in the spaces I visit; it’s important to spend time with those who truly create these societies, and thus understand them better.
