GHOST VILLAGES

En el camino hacia la recuperación de su espacio, la arena ha inundado literalmente las ciudades abandonadas de Kolmanskop, en Namibia, y de Al Madam, en EAU y las ha llenado de misterio y de belleza. Para el viajero curioso, la visita a estos lugares se ha convertido en imprescindible. La arena y la fuerza de la naturaleza lo invaden todo, en un surrealista ejercicio por retomar el sitio que el hombre les arrebató. Aquí, y en medio de un silencio tan inquietante como abrumador, tomo conciencia de lo pequeños que somos y del poder trasformador de la naturaleza.

On the road to reclaiming their space, sand has literally flooded the abandoned cities of Kolmanskop in Namibia and Al Madam in the UAE, filling them with mystery and beauty. For the curious traveler, a visit to these places has become a must. The sand and the force of nature invade everything, in a surreal exercise to regain the place that man took from them. Here, in the midst of a silence as disturbing as it is overwhelming, I become aware of how small we are, and the transforming power of nature.
